Emilya R. Shaaya

Emilya R. Shaaya is a former prosecutor and public defender in Los Angeles. Since she started her career in 2013, Shaaya has set hundreds of cases for trial, receiving outstanding results and taking many cases to jury trial. Shaaya protects adults and juveniles, defending DUIs, suspended license, vandalism, public intoxication, shoplifting, solicitation for prostitution, hit-and-run, resisting arrest, battery, assault, domestic violence, drug possession, and other criminal cases. 

From 2013-2014, Shaaya exclusively handled trial work as a prosecutor and reserve Deputy City Attorney for the City of Los Angeles. From 2014-2018 she served as Deputy Public Defender for the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office, where she advocated on behalf of L.A.’s indigent community. Shaaya formed her law practice to provide direct high level and reliable representation to each of her clients.
